Everyone knows that this is disputable. (I have yet to find one that has resolved it satisfactorily for me, including this one.) I do not have a copyright on anything that might be true. If you find my version helpful and useful to others, you are free to share it, as well as anything else I put out in the public domain. It is certainly okay to attribute it to me, especially since it might not all be accurate! I do pray that it helps, though, and not just add to the confusion.
I do believe that the prophecy begins with King Cyrus’ decree that YHVH Himself first proclaimed (and which is referred to multiple times), even though others argue that it does not. (Jer 25:8-14; Is 44:24-28; 45:1-6; Ezra 1:1-4; 6:2-5; 2Chron 36:17-23; Zech 1:12-17) I also think that Ezra and Nehemiah were contemporaneous with Mordecai, Queen Esther and King Ahasuerus (Achashverosh in Hebrew). I am not 100% certain about the end of the 62 weeks (which followed a distinct 7 weeks) [Dan 9:24-27], whether it is Yeshua’s birth, baptism, or resurrection. Each of those dates regard God’s declaration that Yeshua is the promised Messiah. Since the birth came first, even though only a few were informed by God, I am inclined to think that is it. (Mt 1:18-25 – 2:1-6; Lk 1 – 2: 1-40) On the other hand, His baptism by John was to reveal Him to Israel. (Jn 1:22-34) The resurrection certified that He is indeed the Messiah, the Son of God. (Rom 1:1-6) I am pretty certain, though, that His death was in 30AD, and not before or after. He was 33 1/2 years old when He was crucified, after a 3 1/2-year public ministry. The 2nd Temple was destroyed in 70AD, 40 years later. (Even the Talmud acknowledges that the veil of the Temple was torn 40 years before its destruction: http://www.windowview.org/hmny/pgs/talmuds.30ce.html )
We normally associate the number 40 with a testing and trial period, such as the days of the rains of The Flood in Noah’s day; Moses on Mt Sinai twice for 40 days; the 40 years of the Israelis wandering in the desert after the Exodus from Egypt towards the promised land; Yeshua’s 40 days of fasting in the desert after His baptism before doing battle with the Devil; 40 years from Messiah’s/Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection till the Temple’s destruction and the people’s long exile, still offering repentance unto salvation for the Jews and also for Gentiles, and to prepare the followers of the Lord for the new reality of the gospel truth.)
I place Jesus’ birth on the 24th of the 9th month in the year 5BC (Kislev on Jewish calendar, December on western calendar, with April/Nisan being the first month of Israel’s year, His conception being on the New Moon beginning of that Hebrew month, the New Year.) [Hag 2:6-23; Ex 12:1-2] That appointed time/mo’ed which God speaks of through the prophet Haggai concerning the 24th of the ninth month is only paid attention to on the first night of Hanukkah, but the Maccabees and their victory do not fulfill what God says the He is going to accomplish on, and from, that heaven-and-Earth-shaking date and forward. (Acts 17:1-10; Lk 1:46-55) The Messiah was born not more than two years before King Herod died, which is historically regarded to have been in 4BC. (For more on the New Moon, see: https://streamsinthenegev.com/the-new-moon-covered-or-revealed/)

The final seven years, the 70th week of the prophecy, I am also 100% certain, is future — but not far off now. (Mt 24:32-44; Hos 5:15; Acts 1:1-11; Hos 6:1-2; Ps 90:2-12; 2Pt 3:7-13) When we see animal sacrifices (or, whole burnt offerings), again starting up, we will already be in the first half of the final week, even if it is not publicly known when it actually began — and things are progressing that this may not be too long off. (Dan 8:3-27; 9:27; 12:11-12) I also believe that the first resurrection and very quickly following rapture (1Thes 4:13-18; 5:1-11; 2Thes 2:1-5; Rev 20:4-6) is at the end of the 3 1/2 years of authority given to the Antichrist — the great tribulation/Jacob’s Trouble — and before God’s wrath is poured out on His enemies and on the enemies of His covenanted people — the Jews/Israel, and born-again saints/believers/Christians/those who keep the commandments of Yeshua/Jesus. (Rev 13:1-10; Mt 24; Rev 12:7-17; Dan 7:15-28; 12:1-4) (See chart in this article:

The Lord was upset with His people that they did not recognize that the time had arrived for Him to have come when He did. (Lk 19:40-46) Why would He not be upset with us if we are like they were in not recognizing the times in which we live now, the need for repentance in anticipation of His return in great power and glory?!
Howard, I did move my comment up since I have not seen an answer. Blessing
The word rapture does not occur in the Bible. The term comes from a Latin word meaning “a carrying off, a transport, or a snatching away.” The concept of the “carrying off” or the rapture of the church is clearly taught in Scripture.
The rapture of the church is the event in which God “snatches away” all believers, Jewish and Gentiles from the earth in order to make way for His righteous judgment to be poured out on the earth during the tribulation period. The rapture is described primarily in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-54 God will resurrect all believers who have died, give them glorified bodies, and take them from the earth, along with all living believers, who will also be given glorified bodies at that time. “For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever”, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
The rapture will involve an instantaneous transformation of our bodies to fit us for eternity. “We know that when he [Christ] appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is”, 1 John 3:2. The rapture is to be distinguished from the second coming. At the rapture, the Lord comes “in the clouds” to meet us “in the air”, 1 Thessalonians 4:17. At the second coming, the Lord descends all the way to the earth to stand on the Mount of Olives, resulting in a great earthquake followed by a defeat of God’s enemies, Zacarías 14:3-4.
The doctrine of the rapture was not taught in the Old Testament, which is why Paul calls it a “mystery” now revealed: “Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed”, 1 Corinthians 15:51-52.
The rapture of the church is a glorious event we should all be longing for. We will finally be free from sin. We will be in God’s presence forever. There is far too much debate over the meaning and scope of the rapture. This is not God’s intent. Rather, the rapture should be a comforting doctrine full of hope; God wants us to “encourage each other with these words”, 1 Thessalonians 4:18.
No one knows about the moment of the Rapture, only the Father, but all believers know when the Second Coming will be and the most important point of reference is when the pact between the Antichrist and the leaders of Israel is signed. At that time the new Jewish and Gentile believers during the tribulation who have believed in the Messiah will know that after the seven years of Tribulation the Second Coming will take place.
Hi David. I did not respond, thinking just to leave it unanswered, since it is the ‘default’ comment for those who have decided that God will not let the Bride of Christ suffer really serious trouble. Which, of course, is not true. I am not volunteering, but I pray that I will honor the Lord should it come my way. And, I have a responsibility to my family and to the flock under my care to prepare them for the possibility. Look at the questions put by Andrew, and consider giving a reply to his comment. Also, I am not certain that you read the articles which I linked in my original post, especially The Blessed Hope.
I do hope that you will take the whole counsel of God into account of what believers have endured for His sake, including 2Thes 2 regarding the timing of the “catching up”. (I agree that there is no word, rapture in the Scriptures, just as there is no word trinity; but both express a truth ‘in other words’.) There is no question that the resurrection and catching up are of great comfort to the believers. Without the resurrection, there is no hope beyond this present evil world.
Blessings.
Please may I ask a few questions of all those who expect a rapture of believers before any tribulation:
1. Why did Jesus spend so much time speaking to His own disciples about the tribulation in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 if it was irrelevant to them? Surely a good teacher (and Y’shua/Jesus is so much more than just a good teacher) would focus on what is applicable to His students?
2. We are continually told that we need to become more like Jesus/Y’shua. Did He avoid persecution / tribulation or did He endure it, submitting Himself to the will of the Father (see his prayer in Gethsemane for the most obvious example)? Why should we be different from Him in this?
3. What if you are wrong about your interpretation of God’s teaching? The church in China was decimated by the Communists after World War 2 because the largely-foreign pastors and missionaries had not prepared the Chinese believers for persecution. What is to prevent this happening again because so many, particularly in the USA, believe that they will avoid the tribulation altogether?
Thank-you very much, Andrew, for your questions that demand an answer. Blessings in that peace of God that surpasses understanding.
It’s important to understand that Jesus’ teachings were not only meant for His disciples at that particular time, but also for future generations. The disciples themselves may not have fully understood the significance of what Jesus was teaching them at the time, but as they continued to grow in their faith and understanding, the meaning of His words would become clearer to them.
Furthermore, Jesus’ teachings about the tribulation in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 were not only for His disciples but also for all believers who would face trials and tribulations in the future. By speaking about the tribulation, Jesus was preparing His followers for the difficulties they would face in the world and reminding them to remain faithful to God in the midst of hardship.
In addition, Jesus’ teachings about the tribulation also have a prophetic dimension. He was describing events that would occur in the future, including the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem, the spread of the gospel throughout the world, and the signs that would precede His second coming. By sharing these prophecies with His disciples, Jesus was helping them to understand the bigger picture of God’s plan for the world.
So while the disciples may not have fully understood the significance of Jesus’ teachings about the tribulation at the time, His words were relevant to them and to all believers who would face trials and tribulations in the future, as well as to those who would seek to understand the prophetic significance of these events.
Absolutely
Decree in Ezra 8 is 457 BC plus 483 yrs gives us 27 AD when Jesus was baptized on Elul 29 beginning the 40 days of teshuva. The 70th week began on Tishri 1 and 3.5 yrs later Yeshua died in the middle of the week, 3.5 more years and Peter takes the Gospel to Cornelius/Gentiles and the 70 weeks decreed upon your people are done. Will there be a final 7 yr Sabbath cycle- of course it just wont be Daniel’s 70th week, of course Jesus is our Jubilee so that must happen after the Sabbath year to fulfill all types and patterns. 1st verse of bible is 2701 = 37×73, 37 is the 3rd 6 pointed star number and 73 is the 4th, 3+4 is 7, 7 is spiritual perfection/completion. The Gematria of Israel is 541 and with the star of David on Israels physical flag, is it a surprise that 541 is the 10th star #, 10 is physical perfection/completion. The Jewish year 3787 ends the day Jesus was baptized, 3787 divided by 7 year Sabbath cycles gives us 541 Sabbath years the 10th star number, can it just be coincidence or is it a Godincidence?
Dear Howard, I got your adress from a German Pastor in Stuttgart. Your ideas to Daniel’s 70 weeks are interesting.
I calculate from 605 B.C. After 7 weeks an anointed prince comes: Cyrus. Then I calculate the 62 weeks AGAIN (תָּשׁוּב֙ “tashub”!) from 605 B.C. and another anointed prince comes: Antiochus Epiphany! He’s the one chapter 7 and 8 write about and chapter 10-12 write about. Sounds a little crazy but solves ALSO the grammatical problems in verse 25 regarding the “tashub” (AGAIN!). Wrote a book about it (also in English): https://amzn.eu/d/8EIlUb0
Would send it to you as PDF if you’re interested. Would fly to Israel if needfull. 🙂
Kind regards and God’s blessings, Achim
Dankeschoene, Achim. Yeshua clearly tells us in Mt 24 that the antichrist is future, leading up to His return. He says to read Daniel the Prophet regarding the abomination of desolation, meaning that Daniel is not writing about Antiochus Epiphane, but of the future and final Antichrist. Antiochus did some terrible things, but not to the extent of the details given in Daniel, plus Gabriel clearly explains to Daniel that the substance of the prophecy and vision has to do with the time of the end in the last days.
Events are moving along quickly in our days which will help us all to better understand what was written long ago.
Blessings to you.
Thank-you, Josephine. I also think that there would be some correlation between the 70 Weeks prophecy and the shmita and Jubilee cycles. Biblically, though, I believe that the New Moon is concealed, not sighted. You can read about that in the link that I included in the article.
Please, please (!) purchase a copy of Dr Arnold Fruchtenbaum’s book entitled Footsteps of the Messiah. It is, without a doubt, the most comprehensive and scripturally accurate book on eschatology ever written! I have tried many times to follow your attempts to explain SOME of the scripture involved in this study but you continue to try to fit in only the scripture which seems to “back up” what you WANT to be true and you ignore all the scripture that doesn’t fit your narrative. There are so many passages that your narrative can’t explain and you’re forced to ignore those scripture passages while misunderstanding other scripture that you do use in your explanations here. I believe the problems you continue to face over and over are due to your inability or simple unwillingness to accept that ONLY a dispensational, pretribulational premillennialism viewpoint can provide a consistently harmonious interpretation of ALL of the scripture prophecies on eschatology and not just the ones you like to use (or misuse) in your admittedly truncated understanding.
Dr Fruchtenbaum’s credentials speak for themselves and his tireless life’s work as one of the most celebrated Messianic Jews of our century go without saying. He is the founder of Ariel Ministries and has many groundbreaking works to his credit like Israelology: the Missing Link in Systematic Theology and Yeshua:The Life of the Messiah from a Messianic Jewish Perspective (A 4 volume set of a harmony of the gospels that I can promise you will be the most eye opening and educational study you have ever come across on the gospels.) as well as many, many more books, free online studies, commentaries etc. If you will read Footsteps of the Messiah with an open mind and with sincere prayer, I know the Holy Spirit will give you new insight and teach you at a spiritual depth that only He is able to do. I pray that this will help, not only you, but all those you come into contact with within your ministry. I’m sure you will agree with me that when a teacher becomes unteachable he must stop teaching.
Blessings on everybody who has read this long post! Maranatha Yeshua Ha Mashiach!
I know Arnold, and have a few of his books, which I have read. He also conducted a Passover seder in our congregation some years back. He is a great teacher and I have been blessed by much of it. We disagree on the timing of the rapture. God bless you.
What part of the timing of the rapture you do not agree?
Arnold believes in a pre-tribulation rapture, which could happen imminently at any time prior to the final 7 years (the 70th Week) of this present evil age. I believe that the rapture will be an almost simultaneous event with the resurrection of the dead in Messiah/Christ after the great tribulation/Jacob’s Trouble, which is Satan’s wrath poured out through the Antichrist against primarily Jews and Christians. (Rev 12:13-17; Dan 12:1-3) After the first resurrection, God’s wrath is poured out on His enemies and the enemies of His covenanted people.
Howard,
John 14:2-4
English Standard Version
2 In my Father’s house there are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? [a] 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.
So based on this passage Yeshua’s offer to prepare a home for us was in vain. If the Rapture happened after the Great Tribulation, the church and those who fell asleep in Christ would take a U-Turn without knowing or living in the abodes offered by Yeshua. So, why this offer to go live with HIM if we have to go through the Tribulation breaking his promise that “we will be delivered from the wrath of God”? In other words, if the Antichrist’s pact with the leaders of Israel were made today, you and I will enter the Tribulation.
David, we all have questions about things that have not yet happened, even about some things that already have. God’s wisdom is far above ours, and He wants our faith in His word, and not for us to lean on our own understanding, which we often do.
Whatever Jesus said is definitely not in vain. One of the weaknesses with the pre-tribulation rapture ‘theory’ is that believers in that have made the whole of the last seven years “the tribulation”, and even, “God’s wrath”. Jesus says that tribulation is a normal part of a disciple’s life. The first half of the 70th week is supposedly a relatively peaceful time because of a bad peace treaty. But for believers, we will feel in our spirit by the Holy Spirit the great trouble that is coming upon the unsuspecting people, and so we will be having a more intense tribulation of soul.
It is like the birth pangs of a woman in labor: first the labor pains are not so difficult, and the mother can normally carry on with ordinary activities. After that period, the labor pains intensify and become more frequent, and she is unable to carry on as before, but also knows that the worst pains are coming before the joy of seeing the baby born. This is what the great tribulation will be — the worst distress since the creation of the world — until the Lord takes all who are His, whether we have died, or whether we are still alive. After that, God pours out His wrath upon His enemies and those of His people. The great tribulation is the devil’s wrath through the Antichrist against YHVH’s especially chosen people — Jews and followers of Jesus. We will not suffer GOD’s wrath, but we are not promised not suffer from the enemy’s.
God’s wrath is a relatively short period, and during that time there is no reason why the resurrected and raptured saints won’t receive our new bodies. Exactly where we will actually be living during our reign with the King of kings during the 1000 years, I don’t pretend to have a clear idea, even if I have some imaginative opinions, but I do not think it will be among all those who are in the natural bodies during that Sabbath day of this Creation. I’ll find out when it happens. I just want to be there.
And yes, if the Antichrist’s pact were to be made today with Israel, we would enter the 70th week, and probably wouldn’t be certain about it at that time. The vision of Daniel, which was explained to him about what will occur at the time of the end, has to do with Daniel’s people and land and city — the Jewish people, the land of Israel, and Jerusalem.
It says that the saints (the remnant within the people that are believers) will be greatly suffering at the hands of the vile person/little horn/ Antichrist. During that great trial, the saints will be witnesses to the truth of the gospel; many of the saints will be martyred; the saints will be refined and purified, made white (as a holy and spotless Bride should be for her Bridegroom). This is what we also read in the Revelation. (Dan 11:29-35; 12:1-3; Mt 24:9-25; Rev 6:9-11; 13:5-8)
So, I am an Israeli Jewish saint. (I don’t know if you are Jewish.) For the sake of trying to understand, I am a saint living in this generation when these things could take place. So, according to the Word of God, I should expect to suffer during the coming unprecedented tribulation. Gentile born-again believers, who have been brought into God’s redemptive covenantal plan and purposes which He is implementing through Israel, are also saints written in the Book of the Life.
So at a pre-trib rapture, are only the Gentile saints going to be caught up — since they are not of Daniel the Jew’s people — but not the Jewish saints? The Jewish saints suffer; the Gentile saints are spared? Tell that to the many Gentile believers who are terribly suffering already in some countries, not to mention in past centuries, because of their faith in Jesus. Jewish people have greatly suffered historically because of being Jews; Christians have suffered because of being Christians.
God’s people who love Jesus should expect suffering for Christ’s and the gospel’s sake. Our confidence must be in His sufficient grace to help us honor Him when we do. He is faithful.

So together with the U-Turn in parallel it would be the Second Coming of Christ to reign on Earth physically for a thousand literal years where we will also be. And the promised homes in Heaven? Wait another thousand years?
As I wrote in my previous reply, I am not certain where our “residence” will be during the 1000 years, but wherever Jesus will be, so will we. We do know that He is returning to this Earth to rule and reign, and to Jerusalem in Israel. But whether the saints’ homes will be located “on this Earth”, I am not certain, nor do I need to be now.
Our eternal home, in any case, will be in the New Creation and in the New Jerusalem. After the 1000 years. What and where during the Millennium, we shall see. As I have said, I just want to be there with Him.

Shalom Howard from beautiful Vancouver Island British Columbia.
My name is Bruce Danks.
I am a 64 year old prophecy student that hears from Yahweh.
I will be in Israel from April-12-22-2023 and I would really like to meet you for lunch if you would like so we can talk about our favorite subject, Yeshua and the possible timeline for His arrival and the soon arrival of Yahweh’s Two Witnesses.
I just loved what you said, “Why would He not be upset with us if we are like they were in not recognizing the times in which we live now,”
I will be staying in Jerusalem for four days and in Eilat for five days but we can meet up where ever you like best.
Here is a email I just sent to a sister in the Lord about the possibility of Yahweh’s Two Witnesses showing up during Passover 2023. Like I have said, I am most likely wrong but I am watching.
A email to Elizabeth,
I just sent this email to a gal that was also in Israel for the full-blood-red moons in 2015.
I thought you might be interested in reading this email as well.
I was in Israel on Tabernacles in 2015 high up on a mountain overlooking the dead sea watching the last full-blood-red-supermoon come up.
When I boarded my plane home I said to the Lord nothing happened and He responded.
Yeshua speaking, “They were a sign, a warning, and a dress rehearsal for the day of the Rapture.
In the year the Rapture takes place there will be a full-blood-red moons once again on Passover and on Tabernacles.
Tabernacles is the Jewish Feast day when Joel’s blood-red moon on will take place on the Day of the Lord and it will be Revelation 6:12’s full-blood-red moon. This last full-blood-red-supermoon will take place on the very day of the Rapture just before the Wrath of God commences.
I will be in Israel once again from April-12-22-2023 to watch and see if God’s Two Witnesses will show up on the last day of Passover.
If they show up this will be the day according to the bible that the rain will stop, the first seal will be opened by Yeshua in Heaven and the rider of the white horse will begin to conquer, meaning war?
If God’s Two Witnesses show up I will make videos and load them to YouTube and other platforms.
If the Two Witnesses show up between April 11 and 13 all we have to do is count how many days they minister and how many days they will lay in the streets of Jerusalem after being killed.
So if we count 1260 days plus 3, and a half days from April-11-13-2023 we land on the Feast of Tabernacles, Sept-26th-2026.
On this day it is confirmed that there will be a full-blood-red-supermoon which will take place at the exact halfway point in the seven-year Tribulation. According to the bible the Rapture and the Wrath of God will take place back to back. The closest full moon to the autumn equinox is always a blood-red-moon.
And if you read just six verses after God’s Two Witnesses rise back to life we see the Wrath of God commencing at Rev 11:18.
REVELATION 11:18
V:18 “THE WORLD WAS ANGRY AND YOUR WRATH HAS COME”
The Wrath of God is also known throughout the bible as the Day of the Lord.
Tabernacles is known as the Great Harvest Home Feast day and the full-blood-red-supermoon that takes place on this day is called a Harvest moon.
If God’s Two Witnesses show up on Passover 2023 then I am right but if they don’t I am wrong.
Either way I am watching for our Lord’s appearance at the Rapture with a fervency that goes beyond comprehension.
