Gen 1:14-31 — Days 4-6 of Creation

Mk 10:5-6 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

Gen 1:14-31

We have seen in the first three days of Creation how God created the heavens and the Earth, at first in a state of darkness and lack of order, and without any gap of time between the first and second verses. Then He began to speak things into existence, and made distinctions: between light and darkness, between waters and waters, between seed and seed, between kinds/species and other life in their own kind. God was forming the Earth for its unique place in His created universe, and for the unique life that He filled on it. Continue reading “Gen 1:14-31 — Days 4-6 of Creation”

Genesis 1:1-13 — Days 1-3 of Creation

Mk 10:5-6 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

Gen 1:1-13

As we begin our study of Genesis, the first book of the Bible, I want to emphasize again: it is the Word of God; it is truth. Doubting what God says about the Creation will negatively affect us to doubt what He tells us about other matters throughout the Scriptures. It will weaken our faith in His Word, but it is His Word that He will not change, because He does not change. God’s Word judges us; we do not judge Him. (Heb 4:9-13)  God Himself lives by His Word (which also allows Him sovereign authority to do what man may not), and has magnified His Word above His Name. (Ps 138:2b) Yeshua is the Word of God, and He lived by it, and will continue to fulfill all that is written. As we trust God more to believe all that He says, our praise and worship will also enlarge. Continue reading “Genesis 1:1-13 — Days 1-3 of Creation”

Chosen People, or Myth?

Those who would make the Creation account given in Gen 1 and 2 (and even the history thru ch. 11) in the Hebrew Bible a myth open the door for those who say that it is a myth that the Jewish people are God’s chosen people:  the Jews created their own God and myth to compete with, and separate from, the other gods and myths of pagan nations.  (What a powerful myth!) They would be in agreement — knowingly or not — with those who claim that there is no God who intervenes in human affairs, no center of the universe or of this spherical Earth, and that there is no “specialness” of any thing, not even human beings, whom God uniquely created in His image and in His likeness.  God has a plan and a purpose for His creation, and redemption to accomplish it is at the heart of it from before the beginning. The Gap Between Believing God’s Word _______ and Human Wisdom

We are influenced by the world we are born into much more than we realize. Young children today have an intuitive grasp of some modern technology than many adults who are their parents and grandparents. The current generation is also entering and growing up in a world that is increasingly ignorant of the true God and of His Word, of His covenants, and with an evolutionary mindset and world-view that has displaced a general consensus of the fundamental truths of morality expressed in the Bible, even within the household of faith (at least in the western, Christianized, gospelized world). We have a natural tendency to subject God’s word to the teachings of men – or to the lies of the devil – rather than to subject all things to the Word of God. If we do not believe what God says about the beginning, we may not believe what He also actually says about the ending. If we twist His words at first, we will probably continue to twist them at last. Continue reading “The Gap Between Believing God’s Word _______ and Human Wisdom”

Tonight (March 11, 2013), there is a New Moon.  Do you see it?  What is it that you saw?

This New Moon also marks the beginning of the first month in God’s redemptive calendar year given to Israel, leading up to the Passover on the Full Moon in two weeks. (Ex 12:2)

I am not going to give a teaching here on all that is written concerning the New Moon celebrations given by YHVH to Israel to commemorate, both under the Law of Moses and also in the future Millennial Kingdom (Lev 23:24; Num 10:10; Ezek 46:1-8)The New Testament tells those who are now believers in Yeshua/Jesus not to make too much of days, months, seasons, years, festivals, New Moons, Sabbaths – all of these things being shadows of things to come, but the substance is Messiah. (Gal 4:9-11; Col 2:16-17)

The Lord has told us that all of the Scriptures are written about Him, and we know that all of the sacrifices and holidays/appointed times are also fulfilled by Jesus in the entirety of His first coming, and in the anticipation of His coming again to fulfill all that is written in the whole of the Bible, which still waits for the Kingdom of God to come.

My main purpose here is to try to shed some light on a subject which seems to have been darkened by human reasoning, rather than understood by faith in God’s own Word. We believe by faith, not by sight.  (2Cor 5:7; Heb 11:2)  Continue reading “THE NEW MOON: COVERED, OR REVEALED?”

Ps 19:1-7 (Heb)  To the Chief Musician; a Psalm of David:  The heavens declare the glory of [the Mighty] God, and the firmament shows His handiwork.  Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night stores up knowledge.  There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard.  Their line has gone out through all the Earth and their words to the end of the habitable world.  In them He has set a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming out of his wedding canopy, rejoicing like a hero to run his race.  Its rising is from one end of Heaven, and its circuit period to the other end; and nothing is hidden from its heat.

This last Tuesday evening Evan and I went to the planetarium in Givata’im.  It is the center for the Israel Astronomy Association, and is the only one in the country open to the public.  It is interesting to learn about and to observe something “up there” in outer space – what we might call the second heaven.  God the Father and the Son are on the Throne above them (Eph 1:20-21).  The woman who presented the show explained the stars and the constellations that are visible now in the sky.  The only problem was that all of her explanations, which excited her very much, come from pagan mythology.  Whatever elements of truth may be in them are to are to be recognized as distortions and perversions of the true meaning which comes from the Creator Himself – YHVH God of Israel!  This woman gave honor not to the God of Truth, but to the god of this world and age who wants to be worshipped as God.  There is a Buddhist symbol of a serpent encircling the planet, and the Greek legend making the serpent a symbol for healing and life from the dead.  Continue reading “THE HEAVENS DECLARE THE GLORY OF THE MIGHTY GOD – 21 Aug 2004”

Shalom from Israel!

I have downloaded some of your fascinating research which, by the grace of God, has been opened to you. Christ is made unto us wisdom, and in these last days knowledge is increasing, but only the Holy Spirit can give true understanding and wisdom resulting in praise to God the Father and to the Lord Jesus Christ.

I am not a mathematician, but I do know and believe that God is the one who has ordained numbers and their structures and their significance, both naturally and spiritually. It is a blessing to see that there is demonstrable evidence of inter-related calendrical  movements in the solar system ( and I am convinced throughout the entire universe), showing God to be the Author of order and stability and not of confusion and arbitrariness.  Child-like faith believes that without scientific proof, but it is always a joy to know the “work of His hands” so that we who have been redeemed by Him can worship Him also with our intelligence.  I want to thank you for freely providing your findings for the benefit of others who might be interested. Shalom Jim (and please call me Howard),

Firstly, thank-you for your time and very considerate responses to my questions.

Essentially, I think we are of one mind regarding the out-working of God’s plan, although personally I do not think of Him as being exasperated at a previous creation plan and then creating man (in His own image) as (hopefully) a permanent solution to the problems caused by Satan and his horde.  Rather, I believe that the all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present true and living God took all this into account before He ever created a thing, for the Lamb was slain (as far as the triune God was concerned) before the foundation of the world.  It is my understanding that Lucifer’s rebellion of pride was somehow connected to the fact that MAN would be created in the image and likeness of God and that the Messiah, the Son of God, would be the recipient of the glory and worship which he (Luciffer) wanted, once he realized that God would impart His glory to but flesh, fulfilled in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, both in time and throughout eternity. (Haman is very much like that).

I believe with you that we are the last generation, and that all the signs signify it, with the returning of the Jewish people to the land of Israel, of which I am one, being a very key sign (much like Noah’s ark in his days). Continue reading “CREATED CALENDAR”

Shalom James,

I happened to notice that you have done a substantial revision to a couple of your sites.  I have downloaded them.  Is there anything in particular you would direct my attention to?

By the way, speaking of 12’s and 7’s, it is interesting to note that the current Hebrew calendar cycle of 19 months equals 12 + 7.  Also , the 120 years (or especially the jubilees of years, as you mentioned) which God gave to mankind prior to His judgment with the flood, would comprise the whole span of time of the biblical record from Adam to the approximate close of this century and millenium.

Still interested,

Shalom Howard,

You will find a rewritten Chapter Six in the online document:  ‘A Created Earth/Moon/Sun System’ (sorry about that). The new chapter corrects mistakes and contains some new information extracted from the Bible Book of Haggai.

In addition, you will find a rewrite of the document:  ‘A Created Solar System’.  Essentially, the rewrite of
this document probably does not include much new information other than making a better presentation.

With Regards,

Thanks.  In fact I was just reading the Created Earth… document down through chap. 4, so I will be able to keep on after doing another download.  No problem.

The idea of a special creation for this (our) solar system is “casually” mentioned in the Genesis account of the 4th day of [the general] creation.  It is similar to Israel’s being created as a special people unto YHVH God in a distinct, designed, and purposeful manner by the Creator within the general creation of human beings.  It does not require an interpretation of some former, destroyed universe.

Don’t ignore the implications of your findings regarding the reality – and the necessity – of a redemption and a Redeemer.  The number 7 explains this creation, but 8 ( the interval and intermission days, etc.) ‘explains’ the resurrection and the new creation.
