Yeshua, The Glory of His People Israel

Thank God for Yeshua/Jesus!  Where would we be if we didn’t have Him?!  Pretty hopeless, I would say.

Summer has begun with dramatic news in Israel, even if somewhat expected at some time:  the Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett has stepped down, and Yair Lapid has replaced him.  This exchange was planned to take place in another year, but the politics in Israel being what they are, the current coalition did not last that long.  Lapid has long wanted to be PM, and if former President of the United States is right, anyone who wants to be President (that is, the leader of his country) is a dangerous man.  (I think I remember that right from the biographical book, Plain Speaking).  Lapid has no strong credentials for being the leader of Israel, even though God can use anyone to accomplish His own purposes in His times and ways.  New elections are currently scheduled for late October, after the Jewish holidays, and former PM Benjamin Netanyahu is already planning to become PM again. Was Truman right?

Israel needs to repent and return to YHVH their God, and we know that is fully realized only through coming back to the Father to Israel through His promised Son, Yeshua/Jesus. (Lev 26:3, 11-13; Ezek 37:21-28; 2Cor 6:16-18)  Just as each of us was saved by grace, so, too, will the nation of Israel be [re]born in a day.  None of us is righteous; neither, therefore, is any nation.

Despite the collapsed governing coalition having representation from all across the Israeli political spectrum, it did not represent Israel as the nation state of the Jewish people — not only by God working out His redemptive plan for Israel and all of the nations, but also through international law going back 100 years already.  The coalition was dependent on an Islamist party that at its core seeks Israel’s demise.  There are also non-Zionist and post-Zionist Jewish representatives (including some Jewish religious sects that do not even recognize the current State that were in the former Likud-led government under Netanyahu) in Israel’s parliament.  This Jewish nation-state does not preclude non-Jews from being residents and citizens to be justly regarded under the law, but it does pretty much rule out what people like to idolize as “democracy”.  Democracy means rule of, for, and by the people (the same thing as “laodicea“!):  no king over them.

When carried to its extreme, it leads to anarchy, everyone wanting to do what is right in his own eyes. (Judges 21:25)  Every “identity” group, every “culture” group will want who “represents them” in a pluralistic society.  This only results in chaos and tribal division, and more lawlessness and violence, without real justice (each ‘culture’ will have their own sense of justice, and not permit others to interfere or be impartial). Only Jesus/Yeshua, can rule and judge with equity over everyone in the wisdom and  righteousness of God.  He will vindicate God’s election of the Jewish people and the nation of Israel in this land; and, He will give the other nations (other ‘sons’) what He has promised for them after His first-born son is saved, by finally repenting and believing in Him whom we pierced, confessing their sin against the triune God, who has given Jesus/Yeshua, who came, for our atonement. (Ex 4:22-23; Lev 26:40-45; Rom 11:11-12; Zech 12:7-14)

It is HIM that Israel needs, the promised Son of David.  He will restore the Kingdom of YHVH God.  Until that day, Israel — and the nations of the world — will not, and can not have peace and security that is blessed by the LORD, the Creator of the heavens and the Earth.  And let especially Messianic Jews beware:  the more “Jewish” that Israel may become, the more we will be perceived as enemies of society and the nation.  That is, if we are humbly faithful to the truth of Messiah being Yeshua/Jesus.  Evangelize the Gentiles until their fullness comes in; evangelize the Jewish people to whom the gospel was first preached, and through whom the Gentiles have heard. (Lk 2:29-35)  Pray for that blessed hope:  Come, Lord Jesus!  Then, [God’s] peace will come to Jerusalem.
