Replacement Theology In Its Warp and Woof

2Tim 3:16-17  All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Do we believe this?:  ALL that is written for our learning (Rom 15:4), ALL Scripture, is God-breathed by the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth.  God cannot lie.  He is not a deceiver.  There are some things that we can search out and know apart from knowing the Lord and the Word of God.  There are other things that He tells us that only He knows, and it may be different than what we have thought that we knew, and it may be that we can not know any other way other than to believe Him, rather than try to find another answer that can not be found, or that is against what He has told us. (Is 43:10-11; Job 38:1-7; Jer 31:37; 33:19-26; Gen 1; Ps 19:1-6; Rom 1:18-25

Yeshua told Thomas, who required proof/evidence of His resurrection, that he believed because of seeing proof, but “blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed”.  Despite all of the signs and miracles that Jesus did, the Jewish people kept asking Him for more signs to prove who He is.  Our hearts can be hardened, just like Pharaoh’s, and we refuse to repent and to admit the obvious.  There are some things, that even if we observe it every day with our own eyes, we have been taught not to believe it to be just what the Word of God says it is.  God’s Word is still there, and is written for us living at the end of the ages; and He knows the end from the beginning. (Is 46:9-10; 1Cor 10:11)

When we think of replacement theology, we tend to think of how the Church and Christians claim to have replaced the Jewish people as God’s chosen people, rather than to understand that Israel and the Jews are still God’s chosen people, and so are all believers in Jesus Christ, according to the gospel. (Rom 9 – 11; 1Pt 2:9-10)  Islam claims to have replaced both Israel/Jews and the Church/Christians by the Muslims and their religious faith.  Yeshua/Jesus says to His people that they have replaced the commandments of God by their traditions. (Mt 15:1-9)  Some of God’s people replace the commandments of God by their politics, or by their cultural norms and customs.  Who decided for us that The Bible is not authoritative on all subjects, but only on some?!

Those today who are unnaturally sexually confused, or who approve of sexual confusion, are said by the Scriptures to have “exchanged (replaced) the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.”  Yeshua the Messiah/Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners – not only from our outward words and deeds, but also from our inner nature of thoughts and motives.  If YHVH does not actually live, then why submit to His standard of morality and of right and wrong?  Our conscience is from Him, isn’t it?  (Rom 1:25-32; 1Cor 6:9-11; Rom 12:1-2; Heb 4:10-13; 5:12-14; Rom 2:12-16)

YHVH God tells us that He created the Heavens and the Earth and the seas, and all that is in them, in six days, and rested on the seventh day.  Do we believe that, or have we replaced the revelation which the Creator has given to all by our own worldly wisdom and knowledge, so called? (Ex 20:8-11; 31:16-17; 1Cor 1:18-21; 1Pt 1:24-25; Rev 10:5-7)  Love wants to be fulfilled sooner rather than later; as quickly as possible rather than longer than imaginable.

God tells us that the Lamb of God was foreordained before the foundation of the world, and slain from its foundation; in other words, His plan for redemption was built into His “very good” Creation in order to attain His perfect will.  Sin and evil were already taken into account.  The universe was not perfect, but was perfectly very good to suit YHVH God’s purpose and reason for the Creation.  Even during the Millennial Kingdom there will be sin, death, and even rebellion!  We wait for that which is perfect to come:  the New Heavens and New Earth, where only that which is of the holy God will dwell for eternity, without any sin or evil of any kind or degree. (1Pt 1:18-21; Rev 13:8; Gen 2:8-9; 3:1-8; Is 65:17-25; Rev 201:1521:1-5; 1Cor 13:8-10; Rev 21 – 22

The God-breathed Scriptures tell us that the Sun is unique, and that the spherical Earth is, too.  They also show us that the Sun revolves around the Earth.  (This is not to say that all of the planets do; nor is the Earth flat.)  Do we have faith as a child, believing our Father in Heaven; or do we believe those who tell us it is not so, even though our Father says it is?  His Word will always be proven right, because He can not lie.  Some say that God is using what they call “speech accommodation” in this instance; but on what other subject is He doing that?!  He has created all this, and loves us to let us know the truth, which glorifies Him.  Perhaps the measurements regarding mass and gravity that science uses are theoretical assumptions, which make God’s testimony seem impossible.  We each have a choice to decide whose voice we will hear. (Ecc 1:5; 1Cor 1:18-21; Ps 19:1-6; 50:1-3; Josh 10:12-14; Is 38:4-8; Hab 3:11; 2Kg 20:8-11; Ps 113:1-3; Mt 5:45; Gen 1:14-19; Rev 21:22-27; 22:1-6; Rom 1:20-22

As part of end-time events, it is written that the stars will fall to Earth. (Is 34:4; Mt 24:29; Rev 6:12-17)  Why should they fall specifically to the Earth if there are stronger gravitational bodies in the universe, or if the Earth is not at the center?  The Earth is YHVH’s footstool.  Where is the fear of the LORD? (Is 66:1-2; Acts 7:49-50)

The Word of God teaches us that the Flood in Noah’s day covered the whole land mass, and that it was a judgment for the sin and wickedness of humanity.  The effects of this major deluge radically altered the geography and topography of the world, and its climate.  The wise of this world replace this biblical record by saying that such a world-wide Flood did not occur in human history, nor was it the cause of the fossil record and stratigraphic geological formations, nor, therefore, a judgment from the one true God, whom they hope does not exist. (2Pt 3:1-7; 2:1-9; Gen 6:5-8,17; Mt 24:36-39

God tells us that the present abode of the dead is below us, for the dead all rise in the resurrection, whether unto everlasting life, or whether unto everlasting condemnation.  The Heavens are above.  Not all is relative.  Do we believe that, or have we replaced the revelation which the Creator and Savior has given by our own vain pursuit of answers that reject the God-breathed Scriptures, that is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work? (Num 16:31-34; Dt 32:22; Is 5:14; Dan 12:2,13; Lk 10:15; 16:19-31; Jn 6:35-40; Acts 2:22-33; 1Thes 4:13-18; 2Pt 2:4; Eph 4:7-10; Rev 5:1-3,13-14

Are we willing to be fools for Christ/Messiah, rather than seem to be wise as those who replace His Word by leaning on our own understanding? (1Cor 3:18-20; Prov 3:5-8)    Could it be a key to spiritual revival in the Body of Messiah, when believers believe reality as YHVH God has revealed it to us? Can not scientific thinking and research by believers be applied towards showing how what God says is true, rather than applying assumptions and calculations of popular science that have sought to falsify unfalsifiable truth?  Moses wrote about the Creation, the serpent in the Garden of Eden, the Seed of the Woman, the Flood, the parting of the Reed Sea, sin, substitutionary sacrifices, judgment, covenants, promises, blessings, curses, redemptive hope, the dividing of the lands, the Prophet like unto Moses:  many things, that Yeshua tells us that if we do not believe what Moses wrote then we will not believe His words either, for He confirms all that Moses wrote. (Lk 16:27-31; Jn 5:44-47)  Dear ones, the Scripture cannot be broken. (Ps 82:6-8; Jn 10:35

The spirit of this world is the antichrist spirit, which is motivated not only to oppose the Christ/Messiah/Yeshua/Jesus, but to replace Him:  let us wipe out His name and memory.  This is true of all that YHVH has sovereignly chosen, including a particular family and people, a particular land and city, a particular and only Savior and Name by which persons can be saved. (Ps 83:1-4; Mt 21:33-39; Dan11:36-37; 2Thes 2:3-4)   There is a spiritual conspiracy to deceive and to lie about the one true God.  If the Bible can be “disproved”, then YHVH “does not exist”, and neither do His covenants.  Neither does Heaven or Hell.  John Lennon’s song, “Imagine”, is all there is.  Not all believers are knowingly part of this conspiracy:  that is part of the powerful deception.  But all believers are accountable to be faithful and true witnesses of our God and of His sayings.

Do we really believe that the Bible is the Word of God, or do we compromise it and replace it by picking and choosing which Scripture is truth and which Scripture is not?  Do the Scriptures really shape our worldview?  The truth sets us free, and it sanctifies us, stirring in us to praise and worship the Father in Spirit and truth for His greatness and for His trustworthiness.

Do we listen to the devil still blaspheming YHVH by tempting us, saying:  “Has God really said?”;  Does He really know what He is talking about?;  “Worship me, and I will give you all these kingdoms of the world.”;  Maybe your God is just a myth like all the other gods.

The tree of knowledge in the Garden of Eden was not a tree of knowledge for knowledge sake:  it was the tree of knowledge of good and evil.  Being like God is to not only know that there is both good and evil, but also to discern the difference, and to choose the good.

Choose life, and not death!  Both religion and worldly pursuit of knowledge require faith that there is an imperative to seek truth, but not to find it.  The truth is Jesus Christ/Yeshua the Messiah, who is the Word of God.  The devil lies and deceives us that this is not necessarily so, and, therefore, not necessary to believe:  keep seeking; maybe you will “find something else” that does not exist, but can take comfort or pride in hoping that maybe it does.  And, too often, we participate in the devil’s schemes unknowingly, and keep the truth out-of-bounds.

God will not be mocked!  He has magnified His word above all His Name! (Ps 138:1-2)  YHVH alone is holy! We are not to add to, or take away from, His word.  Replacement theology does just that.  God does not speak idle words, and, in fact, will judge us for every idle word that we speak. (Mt 12:36-39)  Jesus/Yeshua is He through whom the worlds were made, and is the Heir of all things. (Heb 1:1-3)  Without YHVH, nothing exists, and we would not be having this admonition and exhortation.  “The fear of the LORD (YHVH) is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Pr 1:7

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

“When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land.” (2Chron 7:13-14

“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever!  Amen.” (Jude 24-25

  1. Great article Howard! Replacement theology is antithetical to the Everlasting Covenant and to the nature of the Almighty, as is makes Him a liar……

It never ceases to amaze how verses in plain sight are blanked out in the minds of so many……Redactions of the Mind!
