After writing this post on Dec 8, several articles and pronouncements have come forth that proves the point of appropriating Jesus as a Palestinian, who though a Jew born under the Law (of Moses), is claimed to have been a Muslim prophet, just like Mohammed. Not only that, but that He was an Islamic martyr! However, in Islam, the Koran seems to say that Isa (their name for Jesus/Yeshua, who they make into another Jesus) did not die on a cross, and perhaps not at all — which, for those paying attention, makes Him greater than Mohammed, who did die for sure. Ignorance and darkness are the seedbed for lies, confusion, and deception. Although wanting to claim that Jesus was a Palestinian from Palestine, on the other hand Palestinian leaders have also claimed that they are Canaanites. If they want to be considered “indigenous” Canaanites, then they are neither Semites nor, therefore, descendants of Abraham.

Both Islam and Rabbinic Judaism reject and deny Yeshua/Jesus for who He actually is and for what He did. Both deny His resurrection. Neither is the faith of Abraham. Jewish people are physical descendants of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob. Arabs are physical descendants of Abraham, of Ishmael, and of Esau. Muslims are not a people group; neither are Christians: they are both “faith” groups. Only Jewish believers and any Gentile believers who believe the truth of who Yeshua/Jesus is — the LORD (YHVH), the Messiah, the Son of the living God — and in His atoning death and resurrection for their sins is of the faith of Abraham in YHVH God.
Now when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child’s life are dead.” Then he arose, took the young Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel.
But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea instead of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned by God in a dream, he turned aside into the region of Galilee. And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, “He shall be called a Nazarene.”
There is a narrative going around for some years that Jesus/Yeshua was/is Palestinian, even a Palestinian Jew. There are also those that say that the Kingdom of God has no borders. Yet, in v. 21 and 22 of Matthew’s gospel account, we see that the Holy Spirit still recognizes both the nation and people of Israel, of whom the Messiah/Christ was born; and that the Holy Spirit recognizes that God does establish and recognize borders and boundaries. (Dt 32:7-10; Acts 17:24-31)
Yeshua/Jesus was born an Israeli Jew in Bethlehem. (Mic 5:2; Mt 2:1-6)
Joseph was warned in a dream from God that he should take his child and wife out from Egypt, and back into the Land of Israel. And within the land, there was a boundary between Judah and the region of Galilee. These two regions represent all of the Land of Israel.
During the Millennial Kingdom of the returning Lord and King, there will still be boundaries and borders within Israel: each tribe will have his allotted inheritance (see Ezek 47 – 48). There will be nations, each within their appointed borders. (Is 19:19-25; Zec 14:16-19)
The Word of God through the whole of the Bible gives us truth to live by and to stand against lies and deception. We ought to heed them, and renew our minds, being transformed to prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God in all things.
