It is joy to speak of Him who is perfect and harmless, and also of His Kingdom. It is amazing, given the state of the world, the rampant unbelief in any particular god (or belief in every kind of god), and the widespread rejection, in truth, of the LORD God and His Anointed, that most people, when asked, think that God is too good to send people to hell at all, not to mention forever! So we heard last week from Olavi. This only confirms the Scripture that says even God’s enemies will praise Him. What sovereign wisdom He has to accomplish this! Gen 17:1,7,10-14 – Establishment of the covenant by YHVH with Abram (Abraham); identification with and relationship to the people, the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
John 7:22 – The circumcision is not of Moses, but of the fathers.
Deut 10:15-19 – Circumcise the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiff-necked.
Deut 30:1-6 — The LORD will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love YHVH thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
Jer 4:1-4 – Circumcise yourselves to YHVH.
Jer 9:22-25 – Glory in the LORD; there is no difference –in themselves—between the circumcised and uncircumcised.
Rom 2:28 – 3:2 – For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly [only]; neither is it circumcision which is outward in the flesh. But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart – in the spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. What advantage then has the Jew? Or what profit is there in circumcision? Much every way: chiefly, because unto them (us) were committed the oracles of God.
1Cor 7:19 – Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but rather the keeping of the commandments of God. (E Haim means “stone of life”; our prayer is that he will become a “living stone” — e chaya — through spiritual new birth by repentance and faith in the gospel at an early age.)
Gal 5:6 – For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Philp 3:3 – For we are the circumcision which worship God in the Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
1. “Registration” of our children with the government of the Lord Jesus Christ, in the Kingdom of God, before the Lord and before you, the local assembly of God, our brothers and sisters.
2. Want all honor to go to YHVH God and to His covenant of grace.
3. All come into the world with a sinful nature and in need of salvation. This truth is taught in both the Old and New Testaments. R (whose name is a ‘white broom bush/tree’ is by nature a sinner! Have you ever considered that every person who enters the world contributes to the sin and evil of the world? Parents – mothers and fathers – have a great privilege and responsibility to train up our children to both know their need of salvation and also to know Him who alone is the Savior. –Next week marks four years in Israel: full and interesting
–Before coming to faith I thought about the significance of Rosh Hashana, beginning of a new year. What is important to us as Jews and new years in general? Someone is watching over us and preserving us. Another year of life. I thank God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ that He is the Watcher over Israel, the Preserver of our souls!
–Great joy for us that T, a new soul, has come into our life and that God is with us, that our house is under that grace of the New Covenant. I did not grow up in such a household, but I thank the Lord for His hand upon us. Tonight Randi and I want to dedicate T to God in Jesus’ Name as a token of our faith in Him and in His covenant.
